An original oil painting on board, 20 x 30cm, framed.
A British landscape painter and full member of the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Wapping Group of Artists, and Chelsea Arts Society this artist has received significant recognition, including the Winsor & Newton Young Artist Award in 2023, the New Generation Award from the Royal Society of Marine Artists, Artist of the Year from the Circles of Art Foundation in 2024 amongst many other awards. Their work has been exhibited widely, with several major solo exhibitions in London to their name so far, earning recognition for their distinctive approach to the landscape tradition.
Working across the Surrey countryside, the coast and London, the artist explores the changing character of familiar places, capturing fleeting effects of light, atmosphere and the seasons. Their practice combines plein-air observation with a considered studio process, developing paintings through drawing, colour studies and memory.
Influenced by Impressionism and the British landscape tradition, their style balances careful observation with an expressive approach to colour, composition and often paint handling. Rich colour harmonies, tactile surfaces and a sensitivity to the abstract qualities of the landscape lend the work its distinctive character. Each painting seeks to go beyond straightforward representation, conveying the emotional resonance of a place through the expressive possibilities of oil paint.
